Main objective:Responsible for performing investigational testing in support of process development under the guidance of the Sr. Chemist. Assist in the creation of laboratory methods and workflows to support developing manufacturing processes. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Provide assistance in the development of laboratory systems including inventory management, sample lifecycle, and hazardous waste streams.Provide assistance in day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of an analytical laboratory environment including instrument maintenance, daily performance verification, and laboratory cleanliness.Provide assistance in the development and validation of analytical test methods per ISO/USP requirements with specific emphasis on QMS compliance.Assist in the performance of various wet chemistry techniques and analyses including manual/ automatic titration, solution preparation, and polymer dissolution.Assist in the operation of analytical instrumentation including Ambient and High-Temperature Viscometers, Coulometric Karl Fischer Titrators, Melt Flow Indexers, Differential Scanning Calorimeters, and FT-IR Spectrometers.Perform investigational analyses as needed in support of Quality Engineering.Assist in the support of polymer extrusion process development through investigational analyses with the provided analytical instrumentation.Participate in meetings and planning sessions to align on testing priorities and timelines.

Must Haves:The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in chemistry or a related field and familiarity with analytical test methods.1–3 years of lab experience (academic or industry); open to entry-level candidates with strong fundamentals.Willingness to learn and work with specialized instruments and techniques.Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures.Good communication and organizational skills.Nice To Haves: Experience with analytical instruments such as GPC, FTIR, or LC-MS.Familiarity with polymer testing, viscosity, and moisture analysis.Exposure to Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).Understanding of ISO, GMP, or other quality standards.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $28.00/hr.
