Job Description
Join a dynamic chemical manufacturing company as a Quality Control Technician on a contract-to-hire basis. This role is primarily lab-based, performing essential tests on raw materials and inspecting finished products on the production line. You will spend approximately 70% of your time in the lab and 30% in the plant. The position demands effective communication and adaptability to an industrial work environment.
ResponsibilitiesPerform basic lab tests such as pH, specific gravity, viscosity, and titrations on raw materials, batches, and fill line samples.Calculate batch adjustments as necessary.Inspect packaging lines to ensure conformance to specifications, including fill weight, cap torque, labels, label placement, and lot coding.Document test and inspection results using both paper and electronic forms.Review and maintain production records and files.Inspect finished goods and received components for release.Investigate quality complaints and nonconformances.Maintain attention to detail and professional integrity.Communicate effectively with production staff and management.Essential SkillsProficiency in quality control, laboratory work, and quality assurance.Ability to read, edit, proofread, and interpret documents such as Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).Strong proficiency in grammar and spelling.Excellent attention to detail.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's degree in a chemistry-related discipline or 1-2 years of quality experience.Associates degree in a science-related field with industry experience.Computer proficiency using Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook.Knowledge of quality management systems such as ISO-9001 and/or regulatory experience with FDA, EPA, DOT, and OSHA.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
