Ecolab, the leading global developer of premium cleaning, sanitizing and maintenance products and services for the hospitality, institutional and industrial markets is seeking a Chemical Mixer (Afternoon shift). This role is responsible for mixing chemical batches by following formulas, instructions and current standard operating procedures and will be responsible for all aspects of mixing and bulk loading.
What You Will Do:
Review daily mix schedules and ensure the raw materials required are available.Read specification sheet to identify types and quantities of raw materials needed for product, weighing materials as required.Retrieve materials from warehouse using a forklift, Reach truck, or other equipment.Operate pumping stations to move liquid raw materials from storage tanks to mixing tank.Follow mix instructions and add materials according to the process outlined on specification sheet, either by manually adding product or operating pumps. Focus on ensuring all mixed/filled product meets Ecolab quality standards.Follow specifications for ingredient sequencing, batch timing, heating, cooling and agitation. Operate controls of mixer equipment and monitor for failures or problems during mixing process.Obtain samples for quality tests in laboratories and perform pH and other tests on samples as required.Constantly monitor quality of raw materials and mixed products by watching colour, texture and density.Operate controls to transfer batches into hold tanks or fill directly into containers. Wash lines and product tanks. Complete accurate documentation for all products produced including mixing sheets, drug records, mixing logs, inventory control reports, and batch reports and enter data into computer as required.Maintain mixing and surrounding area in a clean and orderly manner including disposal of waste from compactor. Responsible for general housekeeping and cleanliness of equipment and work.Ensure timely and accurate reporting of yield, loss, scrap, efficiencies and quality.Receive and ship all bulk chemicals.Demonstrate flexibility in completing other duties as assigned, including other departments.Work in a safe manner and strive for zero work-related lost time incidents. Understand and follow safety practices/procedures, WHMIS and TDG. Ensure proper/safe use of equipment, safeguards, PPE and hazardous materials. Report work-related hazards/incidents to supervisor without delay.Ensure forklifts are safe and functional for the workday before using.Upon demonstrating job proficiency, guide new hire Mixer associates in accountabilities and mixing processes, as directed by management.As required, perform the duties of Backup Production Associate or Backup Plant Receiver.Position Details:
