Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Chemical Engineer within our Dublin facility.


This position will be part of the Engineering and will be accountable process engineering for site Capital Projects, with a strong emphasis on biopharmaceutical manufacturing systems and cGMP compliance. You will work cross-functionally with all Senior Leadership/engineering teams and the site EHS to ensure adherence to company specific and local regulations.


What you will do:
Bring energy, knowledge, innovation and leadership to carry out the following:

Provide chemical and process engineering expertise during the business, concept and front-end engineering phases- with particular emphasis on building date driven business cases.Generate and review process engineering deliverables such as technical specifications, P&IDs, vendor documentation, and commissioning protocols.Provide technical expertise in bioprocessing equipment design, specification, installation, and commissioning, including piping and instrumentation, utilities, and process control systems.Partner with Operations, Validation, and Quality to ensure new systems meet cGMP, regulatory, and business continuity requirements.Lead and support the delivery of capital projects with a strong chemical/process engineering focus, ensuring systems are designed, installed, meet process requirements, safety standards, and EU regulatory compliance.Oversee end-to-end project lifecycle: pre-initiation, concept, FEED, detail design, construction, C&Q and handover to operations.Collaborate with senior leadership team, including utilities, maintenance, operations, MS&TConduct site walks, system acceptance reviews, and risk assessments to ensure projects are delivered safely and effectively.Ensure project execution aligns with site and corporate engineering standards, while supporting knowledge transfer to operations teams.Identify and resolve technical issues, ensuring robust engineering solutions are implemented within budget and schedule.Contribute to the development of the site’s long-range capital plan, bringing a strong chemical/process engineering perspective.


What skills you will need:
In order to excel in this role, you will need:

Engineering 3rd level qualification in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related discipline.Minimum of 7 years’ hands-on chemical engineering experience, including applying core principles within a pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical setting.Experience in a process or biopharmaceutical cGMP regulated environmentStrong experience in bioprocessing equipment specification, operations.Proven ability to interpret and apply engineering standards, safety requirements, and regulatory guidelines in a pharma/biotech setting.Familiarity with project execution methodologies (project management qualification is desirable but not essential).Excellent collaboration skills with the ability to work cross-functionally both at a site and global level.
