Responsibilities

As a Chemical/Container Preparation Assistant you will enjoy working with a collaborative, high-energy, quality focused team. As a member of the Preparation & Processing Team you will support the clinical and development laboratories by:

Preparing reagentsPerforming quality checks of laboratory water and containersPerforming pipette validationPrioritizing, scheduling, and delivery of containersWashing and sterilizing laboratory glassware and equipment that are contaminated with biological wastePicking-up and returning of processed items to laboratories using carts to move glassware throughout the building and to other locations on campusDecontaminating biological waste for the department

Extensive, on-the-job training will be provided to you. 

*Individuals hired to this position are required to complete 2 years in this position before becoming eligible to transfer to other positions within Mayo Clinic. 

**This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship; Also, Mayo Clinic DOES NOT participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.



Qualifications

Associate degree OR High School Diploma/GED AND two years of work experience including clinical laboratory and/or other relevant work experience.

Additional Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Chemistry or Business Administration is preferred.Ability to collaborate with a team for problem resolution.Ability to maintain a high level of quality and accuracy.FlexibilityComfortable working with chemical and biohazardous materials.

Compensation Detail

Required education, experience, tenure along with internal equity may be considered at the time an offer is extended. The pay range for this position is $19.05 - $25.92/ hour.
