How will you make an impact in this role?

American Express France is looking for an experienced and data-driven SEO Expert to lead the organic growth strategy for our French website. This role is pivotal in enhancing our online visibility, driving high-quality traffic, and supporting our customer acquisition and engagement goals through best-in-class SEO practices.

This role requires a business-oriented mindset, strong analytical capabilities, and a hands-on approach to SEO execution within a performance-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Define and implement a results-oriented SEO strategy aimed at increasing visibility and driving new Cardmembers acquisition via the American Express France website. Conduct comprehensive SEO audits (technical, content, popularity) to identify key opportunities and areas for improvement. Manage and guide an external SEO agency to produce high-quality, optimized content aligned with brand voice and SEO best practices. Optimize on-site SEO by improving technical performance (site structure, speed, indexing, etc.) and enhancing content relevance and structure. Define editorial priorities based on keyword research, competitive analysis, and SEO opportunities to drive qualified organic traffic. Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders (local marketing teams, product owners, analytics and digital teams, compliance et legal teams, etc.) and central SEO/tech teams to ensure strategic alignment and efficient implementation. Lead an internal SEO taskforce, coordinating cross-functional actions to ensure timely execution of SEO initiatives. Build and maintain competitive benchmarks to monitor market positioning and identify emerging trends or threats. Monitor SEO performance metrics, including organic traffic, keyword rankings, engagement, and conversions, and adjust the SEO roadmap accordingly.

Minimum Qualifications

3-5 years of SEO experience, preferably in a large, complex digital ecosystem (client-side or agency). Master’s degree in Marketing, Digital or a related field. Fluid English verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

Strong understanding of technical SEO, content strategy, and off-page SEO. Excellent analytical skills with a data-driven mindset and proficiency with SEO tools such as Google Search Console, Adobe Analytics, Conductor, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, etc. Business-oriented mindset with a clear understanding of acquisition KPIs and revenue impact. Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and drive results in a matrix organization.
