Hourly Rate: $30.93 (Support Worker 3.1)
At Busy Bees at Byford South, we’re passionate about creating a nurturing and healthy environment where children thrive. We’re looking for an experienced Part-Time Chef to join our kitchen team and provide delicious, nutritious meals for our children, working 30 hours per week across Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 13:00 everyday.
Previous experience working in a childcare setting is desirable for this role.
About the Role
As our Centre Chef, you will:
Plan, prepare, and serve fresh meals and snacks for children aged 0–5
Develop rotating menus that meet dietary, allergy, and cultural needs
Ensure a clean, safe, and compliant kitchen environment at all times
Manage inventory, food ordering, and kitchen documentation
Work closely with the Centre Director and Educators to support overall wellbeing
What You’ll Need
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
Experience working in a childcare environment (mandatory)
A current and valid Working With Children Check or ability to obtain one
Valid Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
First Aid and CPR certification (preferred)
Understanding of HACCP and food safety regulations
Strong time management, planning, and communication skills
