Ford is seeking to fill Chassis Electrical Engineer for Steering position in Dearborn, Michigan. This electronic engineering position involves development, validation, and vehicle integration of Steering electronic systems into Ford Motor company vehicles.

Minimum Requirements:

BS Engineering- Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering or strongly related Good communications and project management skills Strong leadership skills, passion for quality, passion to improve customer satisfaction Good teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications:

MS degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering or strongly related Experience in Electronics, ECU design, Worst Case Circuit Analysis, ECU Manufacturing, Steering and Braking Systems Experience applying Systems Engineering  Familiarity with Vector CANAPE and CANalyzer Familiarity with Matlab and Simulink Familiarity with PicoScope Troubleshooting experience with electromechanical systems Experience developing and executing test plans Experience applying engineering disciplines for failure mode avoidance Familiarity with ISO-26262 Experience developing system and hardware requirements

Position Duties/Responsibilities:

Lead development and validation of Electrical Systems for Electric Power Steering (EPS) Systems with a focus on ensuring safe system operation.  Perform electrical system design reviews and analysis including: worst-case circuit analysis, electromagnetic compatibility testing, environmental testing, Failure Mode Avoidance (DFMEAs). Support Functional Safety (ISO-26262) to ensure a safe system design and validation. Define and manage Electrical and Electrical Hardware technical requirements using System Engineering principles. Manage steering suppliers to deliver Design Validation Plans (DVPs) for Environmental testing (CETP-412), EMC testing, and compliance to all electrical Requirements. Manage supplier work-plans to achieve program milestone deliverables for the electrical hardware. Lead electrical hardware technical reviews. Conduct component, sub-system, system and vehicle-level testing of electrical systems. Lead vehicle issue investigations including CAN/CANape/PicoScope data collection and root cause analysis. Work with Steering Mechatronics/System Engineers, EMC, Network Communication, Electrical Distribution, and CAE Engineers to ensure optimal hardware and feature performance.
