In this position...
The Dynamometer Test Technician works full time at the Michigan Proving Grounds (MPG) in Romeo. The technician is responsible for Instrumenting and de-instrumenting vehicles that will run on the dynos. They will also install the vehicle onto the dyno and connect all instrumentation to the test cell. The technician will be expected to operate the dyno control system when the vehicle is operating on the dyno. This position is a 12-hour 7-day crew night shift pattern.
What you'll do...
Responsibilities for candidates may vary and include but are not limited to:
+ Prep and run vehicles for testing:
+ Install all necessary equipment to run vehicle on dyno.
+ Floor Bracket
+ Actuator - with all proper adjustments
+ Program NC boxes
+ Pedal Bracket
+ Thermocouples
+ Instrumentation
+ ABS
+ Dyno mode (if needed)
+ Make a road recording (if applicable).
+ Knowledge of CTEP to drive road recording.
+ Interpret data from recording for accuracy.
+ Install vehicle onto test stand.
+ Setting inertia weights (if applicable)
+ Setting proper wheelbase
+ BP Pendant Use
+ BP Robot Setup
+ Vehicle Tie Down
+ Computer and Controls use
+ Load test into Computer
+ Run test and monitor vehicle while running.
+ Report any stand issues to dyno engineering.
+ Fuel vehicle twice per 12-hour shift.
+ Communicate any issues with VLC on duty.
+ Derig after testing is complete.
+ Determine which stand is best for the requested test.
+ Review incoming paperwork for accuracy or missing info.
+ Change ELMS statuses to reflect the status of vehicle.
+ Work with VLC group for vehicle issues and completed tests.
+ Maintain all paperwork and excel tracking sheets.
+ Send out daily progress report.
+ Print out test data.
+ Maintain hoist usage requirements per Ford’s procedures.
+ Maintain vehicle driving requirements per Ford’s procedures.

You'll have...
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Two years’ experience in automotive basic engine and driveline systems.
Capable of obtaining a Tier II driver rating.
Even better, you may have...
Associates degree.
Two years’ experience in dynamometer testing.
Proficient in utilizing ELMS.
Proficient in utilizing DURIS.
Solid organizational skills including proven ability to multi-task.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Ability to work with computer software systems and to learn new software applications.
