Job Description

The Chassis Design Lead will oversee a team of chassis engineers to ensure the successful development of suspension components and systems. This role is responsible for suspension design, development, and engineering release for production vehicles. The ideal candidate will take ownership of functional objectives, collaborate with advanced engineering teams, and provide leadership to deliver engineering milestones on time.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead a team of chassis engineers in the development of suspension components and systems.

Drive vehicle functional objectives down to the component level and foster team ownership of goals.

Collaborate with Advanced Concepts Engineering (ACE) on early suspension architecture development.

Support suspension kinematic and compliance model development with Virtual Analysis and Driving Dynamics teams.

Provide engineering deliverables in line with project management KPIs and timelines.

Manage component design, development, and packaging.

Oversee DVPR (Design Verification Plan & Report) for suspension components.

Support engineering change management, bill of material updates, and prototype builds.

Manage issues via internal systems and maintain CAD models in TeamCenter.

Lead fastener design and assembly torque development.

Ensure documentation and storage of project records.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Minimum GPA of 3.0 if a recent graduate.

5+ years of chassis suspension engineering design and development experience (preferred).

Demonstrated interest in automobiles (e.g., hobby or college project).

Strong passion for working in the automotive industry.
