The ideal Chart Prep candidate will possess critical thinking capabilities to obtain records for patients coming into the practice. Record obtainment will be derived from the provider's last chart note. If it is a new patient, one must contact the referral source in order to obtain the medical records for the patient's first consult appointment.\n

Roles and Responsibilities:\n\nObtain information from referrals, or other relevant visits to be entered into patient charts\nVerify\/update patient demographics\nRequest patient information as needed\nInitiate paperwork for insurance referrals and prior-authorizations\nMonitor fax tank and scan records\n\n
\n

Required Skills and Experience:\n\nExcellent customer service and problem solving ability\nAbility to think through potential solutions to issues\nGood time management and prioritization skills\nGood computer skills- Medent and Microsoft Office are utilized\nPrevious EMR use\/training helpful\n\n

Preferred Skills and Experience:\n\nHigh school diploma or equivalent\nPrevious medical office experience preferred\nTwo+ years of education\/ previous work experience in a healthcare support field preferred\n\n

Location and Travel Requirements:\n\nThis is an onsite position\/ location\n\nCayuga Heart and Vascular at Ithaca Mall\nPossible travel to other Cayuga Heart and Vascular Locations as needed\n\n\n\n

Compensation Disclosure:\n\n$16.00 to $18.00 per hour\n\n
