How you make a difference

Lead with Compassion as a Charge Nurse (RN)!

 

Are you ready to take charge and make a meaningful difference? As a Charge Nurse (RN), you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality care by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating services for individuals served on your unit during each shift. Beyond ensuring positive care outcomes, you'll support and guide your team, fostering collaboration among healthcare employees and promoting a compassionate environment.

 

Your leadership extends to mentoring and overseeing fellow RNs, assisting with orientation, and ensuring the right supplies, equipment, and resources are always in place. Partnering with families, caretakers, and the healthcare team, you’ll help create a supportive and healing environment where every individual served feels cared for and valued.



Key Responsibilities

Comprehensive Patient Assessment and Care Planning
Conduct and document thorough nursing and physical assessments, identify patient problems, and develop individualized care plans based on age-specific needs and desired outcomes.

Implementation and Oversight of Interventions
Execute care plans, including patient education, delegate tasks to staff, and ensure proper documentation of interventions and treatments.

Professional Oversight and Quality Assurance
Review and revise nursing documentation, oversee medication administration, evaluate treatments, and lead performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient care.

Collaboration and Case Management
Serve as the primary liaison with physicians, participate in discharge planning, utilization review, and case management to optimize care and resource utilization.

Accountability and Professional Development
Demonstrate professional accountability by solving departmental issues, maintaining legal and regulatory compliance, and completing annual competencies and HIPAA training.



Qualifications & Requirements

Education:

Required: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Preferred: BS in nursing.

Experience:

Required: Nursing specialty certification.Required: Two (2) years of experience as an RN in long term care, med/surg or inpatient psychiatry.Preferred: Two (2) years of increasingly responsible leadership experience to include charge, lead or supervisory responsibilities.

Licenses:

Required: Must have a current, unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of practice or be eligible for same through reciprocity with other states.
