About the Emergency Department at Northwest Hospital

60-bed Emergency Department serving over 60,000 patients annually Treats a wide range of conditions, including cardiac, stroke, behavioral health, orthopedic injuries, and minor trauma Includes a dedicated rapid care area for low-acuity cases A dynamic, team-oriented nursing staff focused on patient-centered outcomes and collaboration

What You’ll Do

Deliver safe, evidence-based, age-appropriate nursing care to emergency patients Serve as a clinical leader, resource, and mentor to nurses and support staff Support daily care coordination, patient triage, and efficient workflow management Collaborate with physicians, techs, and interdisciplinary teams to improve patient care and throughput Reinforce best practices, patient safety, and compliance with hospital policies

Qualifications

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred or must be obtained within specified timeframe Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland (or compact state equivalent) American Heart Association BLS certification required 2+ years of experience in emergency or acute care nursing 1–3 years of leadership or charge nurse experience preferred Nursing specialty certification required within 3–5 years of hire (Emergency Nursing or related field)
