Education:
Master's Degree Theological Studies - Required
College Level Coursework ACPE - Clinical Pastoral Education (4 Units) - Required
Experience:
5 years Healthcare - Spiritual Care Preferred and/or
Healthcare - Chaplaincy Preferred
Additional Experience:
Experience in Hospital ministry.
Certifications/Licensures:
APC - Association of Professional Chaplains Achieved prior to or within 18 months of hire and/or
Ordination in Recognized Faith Group and/or
Faith Group Endorsement
Skills:
Sensitivity to diverse religious and cultural practices and values
Maintains professional and personal integrity
Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
Pastoral skills
Excellent communication
Consult with and cooperate with the healthcare team in the delivery of patient-centered care
Maintain a positive working relationship between the Spiritual care department and the interdisciplinary staff team
Demonstrates ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the Director, Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) Supervisor, CPE students, patients, families, staff, volunteers, and the general public
Adheres to the John Muir Health and departmental policies and procedures regarding sick time, attendance, rest and meal periods, dress code, safety, etc
