Summary
The Hospice Chaplain provides a spiritual presence which serves as a constant reminder of the religious roots of Hospice and of the needs of the patient and family which go beyond the physical to their spiritual and emotional needs. The chaplain ensures that spiritual care services are available to Hospice patients/families. The chaplain is responsible for consultation of the Hospice staff in the area of spirituality.
Position Qualifications
Minimum Education: BA/BS degree required. Preferred Education: M. Div degree from an accredited theological school. Minimum Experience: Ordained or authorized by a denomination and approved to function in a pastoral capacity. Preferred Experience: 2-3 years experience in pastoral duties including spiritual counseling and bereavement grief support. Minimum of 1 CPE unit.
