Change Order Manager

Our team is looking to add an experienced and collaborative Change Order Manager to join our construction management team. This is an office-based position to support a multimillion-dollar project for our clients. The successful candidate will have capital cost controls, change management, and estimating expertise in the construction arena. Experience in Water/Wastewater Infrastructure construction is highly desirable. The successful candidate must be technical, organized, with strong communication and writing skills, and have a proven track record. A work history that represents increased levels of responsibility on a progressive basis is important.
You will provide construction change order management support to our Senior Construction Managers, as required, with the aim to minimize scope creep, reduce cost or schedule increases to the project, obtain required approvals, and provide documentation of changes to the program/project scope of work, schedule, and budget. You will be responsible for following our Construction Phase Change Management Plan, which focuses on a formal change management process to ensure all changes to the program scope, schedule, and budget are adequately documented, appropriately approved, and correctly implemented. This position will embrace the following roles or attributes:
* Provide full oversight and coordination among Senior Construction Managers, Construction Coordinators, and Office Engineers for the processing of all change orders within the Program.
* Assure all Change Order deliverables fulfill our clients’ guidelines and requirements and comply with the time constraints established for processing.
* Perform proofreading of all documentation associated with each Change Order, both in Spanish and English, to ensure language correctness and accuracy.
* Candidate shall have a general understanding of construction, cost estimating, commercial writing, and public contracts terms and conditions.
* Candidate should have a general notion of change management and control, budget management and documentation, fiscal and cost reports, charts, graphics, and document control.
* Candidate shall have the ability to present results of change order analyses to senior staff and clients, as well as to conduct properly within a formal meeting forum at an executive level.
* Candidate shall be capable of handling multiple tasks, be able to appraise program needs to establish priorities, and be able to work with rapidly changing requirements.
* Substantial years of project controls experience related to cost estimating, change management, cost analysis, and negotiation.
* Degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or another construction-related subject, or a non-cost BS/BA degree and additional cost estimating experience.
* Experience with Microsoft Excel, Means Construction Cost Data, and other cost estimating software tools.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Google Suite.
* Ability to work from the project's onsite office with the construction management team.
Ideally, you’ll also have
* CCEA, CCP, CEP, CCC, MRICS or equivalent registration/certifications.
* Experience collaborating with a construction project team to successfully negotiate and move change orders.
