JOB PURPOSE

Support the development of quality credentials for Pernod Ricard Japan’s Champagne and Provence wine portfolio by partnering with sales teams to drive new listings, promotion, and engagement across both On-Trade (MOT) and Off-Trade channels.Actively take part in training and education sessions to strengthen knowledge of the brands and their respective categories both internally and externally.Recruit new consumers and build strong brand advocacy through multiple events and tastings.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Development

Support On-Trade and Off-Trade teams in pitches, seminars, and sampling opportunities to drive new listings, promotion, and engagement.Visits MOTs (hotels, restaurants, bars) and maintain effective & engaging communications to introduce portfolio in scope to drive listing and promotions.Identify key accounts and pre-align with MOT activation and Hotel & Restaurant sales teams for consistency.Make regular visits to such key accounts to strengthen brands’ visibility and initiate brand activation, intending to drive advocacy and to bring business impact, through building tight relationships with the accounts.Upon request form sales team, accompany them for meetings and MOT visits to give idea of Activation.Monitor activity performance/learnings as well as competitors’ activities and provide monthly reports.

Brand Education

Undertake comprehensive training for On-Trade (hotels, restaurants, bars) and Off-Trade (wine shops, department stores) staff to strengthen knowledge and engagement with the portfolio in scope.Participate in industry events to educate about the brands.Assist the initiation & implement regular internal training and tasting sessions for sales & marketing teams.Maintain ongoing close connection with MMPJ’s education team to stay on top of global strategy and activations (best practices) of each brand.Keep developing & nurturing superior knowledge in wine to act as the internal reference & the “Japan counterpart” of France cellar teams.

Brand Advocacy

Contribute to the planning and execution of inspiring and engaging consumer events throughout the year to drive brand advocacy for our portfolio in both On-Trade and Off-Trade channels.Actively recruit new consumers by building strong brand advocacy through events and tastings.Develop and maintain a network of Champagne and wine enthusiasts to support consumer recruitment for both On-Trade and Off-Trade events and activations.

Requirements

Education

2-year university graduate or aboveGraduate of wine (JAS wine expert, WSET L2 or above) / hospitality is a plus

Language

Both Japanese (JLPT N2 or above) & English (business proficiency in written and verbal communication) are required. French is a plus.

Experience

At least 2 years in the wine & spirits industry (brand ambassador, Sommelier in a hotel/restaurant or background in winemaking)
