What does a CGI Creative Director do at Hogarth?
As the CGI Creative Director, you will lead the creative vision and production execution of high-end CGI stills and animation, ensuring exceptional visual standards and consistency across all projects. This pivotal role blends creative leadership with technical expertise, overseeing the development of world-class CGI content for premium brands.
You’ll act as a mentor and visionary to a team of skilled CGI artists, collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders, and work directly with clients to interpret and elevate their creative briefs. As a senior creative leader, you will champion innovation, inspire excellence, and ensure the highest fidelity in lighting, rendering, and compositing techniques using best-in-class 3D tools and real-time rendering technologies.
Duties:
Own the creative direction and quality of CGI stills across a wide variety of campaigns and product categories. Lead the visual development process—from initial concept through final delivery—ensuring a consistent, photorealistic standard across all output. Collaborate closely with the Global CGI Heads and maintain communications within the global VFX network Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on major CGI stills projects, translating creative goals into exceptional visual executions. Oversee the lighting and rendering of high-end models (e.g., luxury products) using studio lighting and HDRI setups. Review work from CGI artists, provide feedback, and ensure alignment with both creative vision and technical standards. Partner with art directors to integrate visual storytelling into every aspect of the CGI pipeline. Continually push the boundaries of visual quality through R&D using new software, and evolving rendering techniques. Maintain and refine local production pipelines, ensuring efficiency, scalability, and creative flexibility, whilst integrating where required into the larger core global VFX pipeline and standardised ways of working.Requirements:
Proven experience in a senior CGI creative or supervisory role within a commercial, agency, or post-production environment. Expert-level proficiency in 3DS Max, Maya, Adobe Photoshop, After Effects with a working knowledge or willingness to learn Houdini, and compositing tools such as Nuke. Mastery of product lighting and rendering techniques, particularly for high-end product visualisation. A strong portfolio showcasing exceptional CGI stills work, with an emphasis on photorealism and artistic integrity. Outstanding eye for detail and a passion for pushing visual quality and innovation. Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to direct and inspire multidisciplinary teams. Deep understanding of CGI production workflows, asset management, and client delivery requirements. A proactive, solutions-driven mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.Skills:
