The CFO for the Genomic Medicine business will serve as the primary business partner to the Genomic Medicine President. The role entails working closely with cross-functional teams to help develop strategic plans and guide investments in Genomic Medicine segments for developed markets worldwide. This includes helping to create and drive the Genomic Medicine segment strategy, P&L (profit & loss) statement, product roadmap and portfolio, market value realization, product development, manufacturing and operations, and non-organic investments (i.e., open innovation, M&A).
Reporting to Cytiva’s CFO, this is a highly visible role that includes frequent interaction with executive leadership, and other key internal and external partners. As a leader within the Finance organization, this role’s overarching responsibilities include all financial aspects of the Genomic Medicine’s efforts in delivering insightful business analysis that enables decision-making and improves Cytiva's overall performance. The preferred location of this role is in Amersham, UK.
What you’ll do:
Partner with the Genomic Medicine President and Cytiva CFO to drive the growth and profitability of the business unit and help set and deliver on its financial objectives, while developing and leading the Cell & Gene and New Modalities Finance Teams in partnering with leadership supporting the business.Contribute to capital allocation decisions to maximize short term and long-term returnsOwn and collaborate with the commercial finance team to create the OpCo budget, forecast and actual reporting processes along with related BTG/DHR deliverables w/ special focus on forecast accuracy.Analyze financials with the goal of generating insights on key business drivers and initiating countermeasures if Genomic Medicine deviates from its targets, while maintaining a culture of control & compliance with regards to financial controls & cost discipline.Drive culture of ongoing process improvement to help identify opportunities in the areas of minimizing idle capacity, unit & total cost, and maximizing labour & instrument efficiency. Support the collaboration with program sponsors, cross-functional teams, and other assigned program resources to plan, develop, optimize and execute scope, deliverables, resources, work plans, budgets, and schedules for this large scale, multi-functional initiative (operational changes aligned to legal entities implementation, business process improvement, IT systems projects).Lead & deliver on special projects (Make vs. Buy, Production / Product relocation, M&A)Prepare and present OpCo financials report up to Cytiva/DHR C level – including investor relationsWho you are:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration and minimum of 10 years of financial work experience developing forecasts & operating plans and leading business / finance reviews, along with at least 5 years leading team members in a matrixed environment, balancing execution through others with inclusiveness, leveraging expertise, clear thinking, integrity, imagination, and external focus.CFO/BU Finance Leadership experience – ability to place financial decisions in a business context. Curious about external drivers and business dynamicsStrong analytic skills: able to clearly link financial results to operational performance drivers, generate alternatives and drive positive change.Clear thinking / problem solving: successfully led cross-functional projects/process improvement within operations/finance function involving process improvement; able to quickly grasp new ideas while also being open to change (positive or negative) in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances, and/or to work in ambiguous situations.Excellent influential communication skills: experience working across multiple levels (including executive level), functions and regions; able to clearly communicate complex financial information in an easy-to-understand manner; able to deliver message effectively verbally and in writing and the confidence to approach business leaders with difficult messages and defend position.Solid PC skills: experience with financial systems/applications (i.e.: Oracle, SAP, COGNOS, Business Objects, etc.), strong Excel skills in data compilation and aggregation (i.e. pivot tables, VLookup, and Macros).Experience working in global business environment with sound understanding of global process and transactional flows, along with a basic understanding of financial compliance: SOX, GAAPIt would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
