**Surgical Technologist – Full Time, Days**
**Location:** Baystate Wing Hospital – Palmer, MA
**Schedule:** Full Time | 40 Hours/Week | Day Shift

Baystate Health is seeking a highly motivated and skilled **Surgical Technologist** to join our collaborative surgical services team at **Baystate Wing Hospital in Palmer, MA** . In this essential role, you’ll directly support physicians and surgeons to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality surgical outcomes for patients across a variety of specialties.

**What You’ll Do**
As a Surgical Technologist, you'll play a vital role in the operating room by ensuring optimal conditions for surgical procedures. You'll be responsible for maintaining aseptic technique, anticipating the surgeon’s needs, and handling instrumentation and advanced technologies that support surgical excellence.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Ensure proper preparation and maintenance of instruments, equipment, and sterile field
+ Collaborate with the surgical team to provide safe and effective care
+ Maintain awareness of each patient’s history, allergies, and procedural plan
+ Assist with intraoperative pharmacology, sharps safety, specimen handling, and temperature regulation
+ Document activities accurately and thoroughly in accordance with policy
+ Support the principles of patient safety, infection control, and procedural efficiency
**What You’ll Bring**
**Required Qualifications:**
+ Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program (CAAHEP) or equivalent structured training program
+ Certification required for those without experience in a surgical facility prior to July 1, 2013
+ Strong knowledge of aseptic and sterile technique, surgical anatomy, and instrumentation
**Preferred:**
+ Prior experience as a surgical technologist is welcome but not required
**Skills & Competencies:**
+ Proven attention to detail, excellent hand-eye coordination, and ability to anticipate surgical needs
+ Proficiency in medical terminology, specimen handling, and intraoperative communication
+ Commitment to maintaining safety, teamwork, and patient-centered care
