Functions as the member of the surgical team who assists the surgeon, anesthesiologist/anesthetist and RN in delivering direct patient care during the entire preoperative experience. Acts as the primary scrub person or first assistant during the operative procedure. Must be a graduate of a program of surgical technology of at least one year duration and possess certification by the Association of Operating Room Technicians. Current certification in CPR, the ability to function in emergency situations and the ability to take call is required.
