Responsibilities:

Responsible for providing professional, medical treatment to studentsResponsible for early detection of student physical problems and for completing student health evaluationsCoordinates vision, hearing, and orthopedic screening and health assessmentsResponsible for providing, or assisting teachers with providing disease prevention, nutrition and general health educationAssists school personnel with the promotion of health education and immunization programsDesigns and implements student Individualized Health Plans (IHPs) • Provides, and/or oversees, student medication administration and medical treatments as required by student’s IHPMaintains clinical recordsProvides emergency aid to students and school staffConsults with, conducts in-service training for, and serves as a resource person for school staffParticipates in the implementation of health instruction/curriculumCounsels & assists students and parents in health-related adjustments

Requirements:

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing preferredCurrently licensed as a Registered Nurse in specific state requiredTwo years of successful experience as a school nurse preferredValid CPR certification requiredSuccessful completion of training, testing, and/or additional requirements as stated by contract requiredExcellent Communication skillsProficiency in the English language requiredCurrent Health Certificate (per facility contract or state regulation) requiredMust meet all federal, state, local, and contract requirementsTechnological proficiency including mobile devices for documentationMust be at least 18 years of age
