Certified Medical Dosimetrist (Assistant Medical Physicist)
Job Summary Tower Health is seeking a full-time, certified medical dosimetrist (CMD) for the role of Assistant Medical Physicist in Radiation Oncology. This position will consist of hybrid responsibilities between dosimetry and ancillary physics tasks, split roughly 50-50 but varying as needed to accommodate patient volumes. MDCB certification required, with preferred experience on Eclipse TPS and proficiency planning IMRT, SBRT, and SRS cases. Ethos planning experience desired but not required. For physics responsibilities, experience in setting up and running monthly/annual QA under QMP direction, organizing testing spreadsheets, and coordinating calibration of measurement devices is preferred but not required. In lieu of experience in physics tasks, candidate must have strong foundations in radiation physics with an eagerness to learn and develop professionally. The successful candidate will join a team of three certified physicists, four dosimetrists, and one service engineer. Equipment includes Ethos, Trilogy, and IX linacs, with an Edge in the pipeline to replace the Trilogy. Bravos HDR is used for GYN brachytherapy. Several automated tools have been implemented to maximize planning efficiency, including ClearCheck, EZ-Fluence, Auto Contouring, Mobius3D, and HyperArc for SRS (to be installed with the Edge). QA equipment used includes StereoPhan, SRS MapCheck, Portal Dosimetry, DoseLab, IC Profiler, among many other tools. Apply today for an exciting and unique opportunity!!! The Assistant Medical Physicist in Radiation Oncology performs technical physics and dosimetry tasks under the direction of the qualified medical physicist (QMP). They are involved in the preparation, setup, and data collection of machine-specific, patient-specific, and treatment planning system Quality Assurance (QA) testing. They organize QA records and QA equipment calibrations, while reporting any issues/ failures to the QMP. As a certified medical dosimetrist (CMD), the Assistant Physicist participates in treatment planning for special procedures as assigned by the QMP and assists the dosimetrists with all aspects of conventional planning, including contouring, dose calculations, and preparation of documentation. They participate in continuing education and maintain certification. This position reports to the Chief Physicist.
