Job Overview:

The Certified Medical Assistant is an essential member of the clinical care team, supporting providers across multiple specialties in a fast-paced medical office hub.  Responsibilities include rooming patients, taking and recording vital signs, assisting with examinations and procedures, administering injections and medications as directed, and accurately documenting clinical information in the electronic medical record.  The CMA plays a critical role in ensuring efficient patient flow, maintaining clinical equipment and supplies, and delivering high-quality, compassionate care.

Qualifications:

Required:

Completion of a formal nurse assistance training programAt least six months experience

Preferred:

Minimum of 1 2 years of experience in a medical office or ambulatory care setting preferredExperience with electronic medical records; EPIC experience strongly preferred

Certifications and Licenses Required:

CMA CertificationBLS Certification from American Heart Association

Scheduling Requirements:

Day Shift, 40 hours/week Shift times may vary between 7:30AM-4 PM, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM, 8:30 AM-5:00 PMFull-Time Schedule 

Essential Functions:

Prepare exam rooms and assist providers with patient examinations and proceduresTake and record patient vital signs and medical historiesAdminister injections, vaccines, and medications as directed by the providerCollect specimens and perform point-of-care testingEnsure all documentation is completed accurately in the EMRMaintain clinical supply inventory and ensure exam rooms are fully stockedFollow infection control protocols and maintain a clean, safe patient environmentCommunicate effectively with patients, families, and clinical team membersSupport coordination of care across various specialties within the hub
