Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant
Job Description

The Certified Medical Assistant is responsible for completing the patient intake process, assisting clinicians with daily care, performing various medical tasks such as taking vital signs, and documenting information in the medical record. This role involves assisting clinicians with administrative tasks, including faxing and phoning in prescriptions, calling for reports and records, and collecting and relaying lab information. Supervision is provided by clinicians, RNs, and the clinical nursing team.

ResponsibilitiesComplete patient intake processes efficiently.Assist clinicians with daily patient care and administrative tasks.Perform medical tasks including taking and recording vital signs.Document patient information accurately in medical records.Fax and phone in prescriptions as needed.Call for reports and records to support clinicians.Collect and relay lab information promptly.Essential SkillsCertified Medical Assistant with at least 6 months to 1 year of experience.Completion of a Medical Assistant program from an accredited school.Experience in patient care, medical assisting, and patient intake.Skilled in using EMR systems.Ability to take manual blood pressure and perform triage.Additional Skills & QualificationsCertification from agencies such as AAMA, AMT, NHA, NCCT, NAHP, or ARMA.Experience in multi-specialty environments and pediatrics is beneficial.EMR experience is a plus.Work Environment

This position offers a work schedule of Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with one evening shift from 10:30 am to 7:00 pm. The organization is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that functions primarily as a safety net provider offering multidisciplinary health care services to all individuals, with a special focus on underserved and marginalized populations. The target population includes low-income individuals and families, including those with household incomes at or below 200% of the federal poverty level, as well as uninsured and under-insured persons. The organization offers a discounted sliding fee scale so that no one is denied access to care due to their inability to pay. Services include adult and pediatric primary care, behavioral health and substance use, dental services, diabetes care, infectious disease management, LGBTQ services, Ob/Gyn care, full-service pharmacy services, psychiatry, and social services.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $20.00/hr.
