Certified Deaf Interpreter Job Description

Context Global seeks motivated Certified Deaf Interpreters to work as flex-time freelance interpreters.

Responsibilities:

ASL Interpreting:

- Provide effective communication facilitation between multiple parties, working with hearing interpreter teams

- Be able to match the variety of linguistic needs present in the greater ASL community

- Understand cultural and linguistic differences between communities and respond accordingly

Expectations:

- Submit time sheets, invoices, and paperwork on time and as required

- Superior interpersonal skills

- Adhere to the RID Code of Professional Conduct

Requirements:

- Culturally and Linguistically Deaf

- Fluency in American Sign Language and written English

- RID Certified Deaf Interpreter or comparable experience  

- Self-motivated and well organized
