Certified CS/SPD Technicians are responsible for cleaning and maintaining surgical and hospital tools. In this position, you help ensure patients have the best possible healthcare experience by providing caregivers with safe and sterile equipment. A caregiver in this position works  days from 9:00Am - 5:30PM or 10:00AM - 6:30PM.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

Provide safe, efficient practices for decontamination, instrument assembly, wrapping and sterilization of all reprocessed instruments and distribution equipment.  Perform case pull functions.  Determine appropriate case carts to be built for specialty procedures.  Build case carts ensuring adherence to procedures.  Dispatch case carts to ensure availability for surgical/clinical procedures.  Perform record keeping, ordering, stocking and inventory control.  

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

High School Diploma/GED  Sterile Processing Distribution (CRST) Certification by IAHCSMM or CBSPD 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

One year of experience in central service/sterile processing areas

Physical Requirements:

Lifts and carries items weighing up to 25 pounds and ability to push, pull and navigate supply carts weighing >than 75 pounds.

Personal Protective Equipment:

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
