As a Certified CS/SPD Technician, you will play a key role in how our operating rooms care for our patients as a whole team relies on you to successfully set up the operating room. Certified CS/SPD Technicians receive ample support, training and education, including learning how to operate the latest, state-of-the-art processing equipment and using the newest sterilization tools and concepts.
**A caregiver in this position works rotating evenings/nights from 3:00PM - 11:30PM or 11:00PM - 7:30AM, with rotating weekend and holiday requirements.**
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
+ Be responsible for the safe, efficient practices for decontamination, instrument assembly, wrapping and sterilization of all reprocessed instruments, equipment distribution and case care management.
+ Perform case pull functions.
+ Determine appropriate case carts to be built for specialty procedures.
+ Dispatch case carts to ensure they are available for surgical/clinical procedures.
+ Perform recordkeeping functions, such as processing, sterilization, quality assurance and more.
+ Order and stock supplies.
+ Maintain adequate levels and inventory of supplies.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
+ High School Diploma or GED
+ Two to five years of experience in central service/sterile processing areas
+ A Sterile Processing certification (e.g., CRCST, CSPDT, CFER, or CER)
+ Completion of a recognized training program with certification in central service/sterile processing
+ Proficient in using computerized instrument tracking systems
+ Military experience, such as Hospital Corpsmen (HM), Machinery Repairman (MR), Aircraft Maintenance Technician (2A3X3), Biomedical Equipment Specialist (68A), Small Arms Repairer (91F), or similar, will be considered

**Physical Requirements:**
+ Requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting items that weigh 20-30 pounds.
+ Requires the ability to push a fully loaded cart weighing up to 200+ pounds.
+ Possible exposure to biological and chemical contamination.
+ Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
+ Requires corrected vision and hearing to within normal range.
**Personal Protective Equipment:**
+ Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
