Certified Coding Specialist (Full-Time) Admin & Support (Operations, Accounting, HR, HIM, Marketing) Johnston, Iowa Apply Description We have added a new role to our Revenue Cycle Management Team: Certified Coding Specialist . This team member will confirm the accuracy of assigned codes to patient records based on clinical documentation. Additionally, the position ensures adherence to federal coding regulations and payer requirements, facilitates timely claim processing, and supports the organization’s financial integrity through precise coding and documentation practices. Schedule + Full-time, Monday – Friday, 8am-4pm + Work is onsite at least two days per week, at our Johnston location What You’ll Do + Assign accurate diagnostic and procedural codes using ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS standards based on clinical documentation. + Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to clarify documentation, resolve coding discrepancies, and ensure accurate claim submission. + Ensure timely and compliant reimbursement by submitting clean claims, managing appeals for denied or unpaid claims, and addressing payment discrepancies in line with payer guidelines. + Conduct regular audits and quality reviews of professional charges, contributing to continuous improvement and compliance initiatives. + Analyze medical records for completeness, accuracy, and regulatory compliance, while safeguarding the confidentiality and accessibility of electronic health records (EHR). + Stay current on coding regulations and payer requirements , and proactively resolve claim issues using Accounts Receivable reports to support departmental goals. What You’ll Need + High school diploma or equivalent + 2-4 years of medical coding experience, preferably in a hospital o r clinic setting + Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent certification ( e.g.CCS ) + Proficient use of Microsoft applications, including Outlook, Word and Excel + Strong attention to detail + Ability to exercise confidentiality regarding the affairs of clients, staff, their families, and ChildServe business.
