Summary: Schedule: Tuesday & Wednesday, 7:00am-5:30pm + The certified cardiopulmonary technician will play a lead role in the daily operations of the outpatient non-invasive cardiac diagnostic testing area.The certified cardiopulmonary technician must have proficiency in all non-invasive cardiac procedures including all cardiac stress tests(Myoview/Thallium, Dobutamine, Treadmill and Persantine), Pulmonary Exercise tests, Stress Echocardiograms, and Regular Stress Tests.Additional skills include proficiency in Holter Monitoring, Blood Pressure Monitoring, Transtelephonic Event Monitoring, Cardiac Loops and EKGs.The certified cardiopulmonary technician is a resource for the EKG/Stress Testing team. Responsibilities: + ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES + 1. Accurately performs Holter Monitor and Ambulatory Blood Pressure application under the order of a physician. + 2. Physiologic monitoring of the cardiopulmonary system (ECG and Exercise Tolerance Testing by both chemical or regular). + OTHER JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES + 1. Assists in the patient preparation for and blood pressure monitoring during various stress testing procedures including + Myoview/Thallium, Dobutamine, Treadmill, Persantine, Pulmonary Exercise, Stress Echo, and regular cardiac stress testing. + 2. Performs various routine and specialized procedures necessary for the documentation and interpretation of the electrical activity of the heart. + 3. Provide support for non-invasive cardiac diagnostic testing with equipment set-ups, ordering supplies and acts as liaison between Radiology, Cardiopulmonary, and Cardiologists. + 4. Prepares patient for, applies cardiac diagnostic testing equipment and instructs patient on their role in the use of Holter Monitoring, 24 hours Blood Pressure Monitoring, Trans telephonic Event Monitoring, and Cardiac Loop Monitoring. and Electrocardiograms. + 5. Educates patients on procedure including any discharge instructions. + 6. Proficiency shown in arrhythmia recognition and able to give preliminary interpretation. Recognizes and reports patient’s rhythm or conduction as per policy. + 7. Acts as a resource and educator for both PHCS staff as well as community as it relates to non-invasive diagnostic cardiac testing procedures. + 8. Support customer service and performance improvement goals of the department collaborate with other caregivers/staff within the department and hospital to develop means of enhancing patient care. + 9. Maintain standards of confidentiality. + 10. Must have age specific knowledge and skills – Candidate must possess the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to meet patients’ physical, psychological and social needs with those growth and development levels and patient population levels served within the community. + 11. Participate in unit compliance as related to established standards. + 12. Other duties and projects as assigned and as needed. Credentials: + Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required) + Certified Cardiographic Technician (Required) Education or Equivalent Experience: + H.S.
