Central Sterile Technician

At Valley Regional Hospital, patients are the center of our coordinated care system and right now we have an opening for a Central Sterile Processing Technician to join our team. The primary responsibility of the Central Sterile Processing Technician is: * Decontaminates and sterilizes instruments, medical supplies and equipment, and assembles, wraps, and sterilizes trays of instruments. * Follow proper standard precautions while in decontamination and sterilization areas. * Monitors biological and chemical wash solutions to ensure quality and consistency for decontamination and sterilization areas. * Sorts mismatched sets of instruments, trays, and medical equipment and makes them available to sterile processing customers in a timely manner. * Restocks, labels, and maintains inventory, submits requisitions, collects and distributes instruments, trays, and medical equipment. An ideal candidate would have the following qualifications: * Associate Degree in related field preferred. * One to two years' experience in a hospital setting preferred. * Ability to be a self-motivated learner, to take initiative in learning the many complex processes * Exhibits professionalism at all times, understands appropriate workplace behavior/communications.
