CDL A Driver Technician

The Class A CDL Driver Technician is responsible for the safe operation of a DOT-regulated vehicle to transport materials and equipment. This role also performs field service activities at customer sites, including system troubleshooting and work involving mechanical, electrical, and diesel equipment. The Technician ensures safety compliance for both company and customer-owned equipment and may support work across multiple systems, locations, and customers. **Key Responsibilities:** + Maintain a safe working environment and promote a safety-first culture + Operate and care for company vehicles and equipment responsibly + Perform service and maintenance tasks in the field with mechanical, electrical, or diesel components + Troubleshoot and resolve system issues efficiently + Interact professionally with customers and represent the company positively + Work effectively in a team and independently as needed + Support a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement **Travel Requirements:** + Travel required 20%–80% based on division/location + Overnight stays may be necessary **Driving Requirements:** + Valid Driver’s License + Ability to obtain CDL Class A with endorsements + Clean driving record + DOT Medical Card + Required documentation includes: + Driver Application for Employment + Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) + Driver Disclosure & Release + Drug and Alcohol Statement + FMCSA Certificate of Awareness + Certificate of Violations + Statement of On-Duty Hours + Road Test Certificate + Medical Certificate _Note: Additional division-specific requirements may apply._ **Education & Experience:** + High school diploma or equivalent required + 2–5 years of technical work experience (preferably in industrial or commercial water processes) + Ability to obtain necessary clearances (e.g., TWIC, DISA) + Willingness and ability to drive long distances and overnight + Ability to cross international borders (valid passport required) + Understanding of vehicle weight distribution and load management **Preferred:** + Industry-specific licenses or certifications **Skills & Competencies:** + Proficiency in Microsoft Office and mobile smart devices + Strong customer service and communication skills + Ability to work with minimal supervision + Solid technical foundation in electrical, mechanical, diesel, or fusion technologies (varies by business unit) + Critical thinking and troubleshooting skills + Ability to synthesize and communicate technical information clearly + Problem-solving based on customer experience and technical insight **Core Behaviors:** + **Continuous Learning:** Committed to ongoing personal and professional development + **Collaboration:** Works well in teams and values diverse perspectives + **Results-Oriented:** Strives to meet or exceed performance goals efficiently and effectively **Job postings will include a wide salary range, with each role's pay falling within that range.
