Job Description
The role is responsible for supporting the Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM) program by collecting and analyzing motor testing data for plant equipment. The position involves recommending corrective actions, conducting routine rounds, initiating investigations, and coordinating efforts across departments to ensure optimal equipment performance and reliability. This role requires on-call availability and a strong commitment to customer service and safety.
Key Responsibilities Collect and analyze motor testing data for plant equipment; recommend corrective actions for identified issues. Perform routine rounds for critical equipment and communicate any changes, issues, or deficiencies. Initiate investigations and conduct root cause analyses for equipment failures. Review and optimize maintenance strategies for plant equipment. Coordinate efforts across multiple departments and build trusting relationships. Maintain a high level of customer service satisfaction in all activities. Plan and implement new technology installations as appropriate. Recommend tools and technologies to enhance CBM department performance and capabilities. Support CBM team efforts across all technologies. Coordinate activities between the plant and Southern Company Services Performance and Reliability group. Technical Responsibilities Extensive use of motor circuit evaluation testers. Perform both online and offline motor testing. Follow Lock-Out Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures to ensure personnel and equipment safety. Conduct routine routes and analyze equipment performance using OIS, Maximo, PDMA, and InsightCM. Utilize Maximo to document CBM examinations, maintenance recommendations, equipment assessments, case histories, and cost-benefit analyses. Provide guidance on maintenance strategies and operational best practices. Communicate with plant management, corporate leadership, vendors, peer groups, and utility experts regarding operations, repairs, replacements, modifications, improvements, and scheduling. Build and maintain relationships with key vendors; analyze acceptance data for new or rebuilt equipment. Stay informed on the latest PDM technology developments; participate in CBM/PDM user groups and share expertise with other CBM personnel. Summarize findings using reporting technologies such as Tableau, Power BI, and SQL.Job Requirements
Education & Experience:
Certification in motor testing preferred. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in motor testing analysis preferred. Experience with PDMA MCE Tester preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office required. Experience with Maximo and Oracle preferred.Skills & Attributes:
