Job Title: CATIA V5 Designer
Job Description

This role involves preparing 3D models and drawings using CATIA V5 R21 and above, performing design, drafting, and checking functions, and coordinating designs with both Project and Manufacturing Engineers.

ResponsibilitiesCreate sketch-based solids, complex surfaces, assemblies, and parameterized models in CATIA V5.Design parts using manufacturing knowledge, including sheet metal forming and subtractive/additive manufacturing.Create details and assemblies within engine and vehicle level DMU environments using local/global coordinate systems.Operate in PLM software (3DX) and apply standard configuration management practices.Produce 2D drawings or 3D PDFs for detail components and assemblies.Develop Model Based Definition (MBD) using the FTA workbench.Generate assembly BOMs.Apply GD&T practices per ASME Y14.5-2018 standards.Conduct tolerance stack-ups, interference checks, and installation assessments.Write Engineering Orders and modify existing drawings.Perform weight calculations manually or using CATIA.Conduct design checks of models and drawings by other drafters.Assist the shop, customers, and vendors in interpreting SSP and customer drawings.Create tooling models and drawings.Adhere to all company policies and procedures.Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area using safety standards.Essential SkillsProficiency in CATIA V5 for 3D modeling and drafting.Strong understanding of mechanical design, complex assemblies, and GD&T practices.Experience in aerospace design and drafting.Additional Skills & QualificationsAssociate's degree or vocational school graduate with courses in Mechanical Drafting, Algebra, and Trigonometry, with at least six years of aerospace design experience and 8,000 hours in CATIA V5.Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent, with at least four years of aerospace design experience and 6,000 hours in CATIA V5.Desired qualification: Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent, with at least two years of aerospace design experience and 4,000 hours in CATIA V5.Completion of CATIA V5 courses is strongly desired.ASME Y14.5 certification is advantageous.Work Environment

The position reports to the manager and offers the possibility of conversion after 6 months. The work schedule is 40 hours per week, with flexible start times between 7-3:30 pm or 8-4:30 pm.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr.
