Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join the ADAS department as a CATIA specialist. This role involves conducting design feasibility and cost analysis, performing strength calculations, selecting materials, and overseeing part construction, specification, and manufacturing activities. The engineer will draft engineering solutions for components or parts, including associated drawings and 3D layouts, while ensuring feasibility, cost-effectiveness, quality, and performance.
ResponsibilitiesConduct design feasibility and cost analysis, strength calculations, and material selection for part construction and specification.Draft engineering solutions for assigned components or parts, including associated drawings and 3D layouts.Confirm designs under the guidance of engineers and present them at team evaluations.Prepare documents for evaluations, including cost, checklists, technical and styling feasibility.Manage projects and suppliers, and conduct customer and market studies of new technologies.Engage in self-improvement and training to enhance skills.Collaborate with higher-level engineers and experts to ensure components meet layout, quality, cost, performance, and regulatory requirements.Travel may be required to other facilities and suppliers, not limited to North America.Essential SkillsProficiency in CATIA V5 or V6.Experience in product design, including sheet metal design, injection molding, stamping, and general part design.Knowledge of automotive product design.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's Degree in an engineering-related field.Experience in CATIA V5.Product design experience, especially in sheet metal design, injection modeling, stamping brackets, and general part design.Work Environment
The work environment consists of a team of about 15 designers in an R&D setting. The position offers contract-to-hire capabilities within a high-tech facility, with opportunities for growth and front-end development in IVI systems. Benefits include two weeks of PTO, eight paid holidays, two weeks of paid shutdown, and straight-time overtime. Dress code adheres to the facility's standards.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $38.00 - $40.00/hr.
