Job Description

Since opening the doors in 1916, the Omni William Penn Hotel has played a starring role in the city of Pittsburgh, hosting movie stars, politicians, heads of state and leaders of business and industry.  A multi-million-dollar renovation has only enhanced the beauty of this luxury hotel to ensure that generations to come will enjoy the outstanding service, guest room accommodations and award-winning cuisine that have defined Omni William Penn for decades.

 

We are looking for a seasoned Catering Sales Manager to actively book and service events while creatively utilizing space and up-selling in order to maximize hotel revenue. This is a catering sales position specifically focused on direct sales related duties. Some detailing will be required for events contracting within 2 weeks of arrival.

This position is eligible for the Omni Sales Incentive Plan. This position is located on property. This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities Respond to incoming catering leads within a 24 hour timeframe (unless a lead is received on a Friday and the response must be back to the client by Monday Noon their time)Proactively identify, qualify, and solicit new business to achieve personal and resort revenue goalsClose the best opportunities for the hotel based on the market conditions and hotel needsUnderstand the overall market in which they sell (i.e.: competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand, etc.)Effectively manage and develop relationships with key internal and external customers, ensuring a high degree of customer satisfactionBuild and strengthen relationships with existing and new customers to include sales calls, FAM events, site inspections, etc.Generates contracts and creative proposals to meet customer needsProvide accurate, complete, and effective turnover to event servicesPresent ideas, expectations and information in a concise, well organized mannerContinue communications with catering contacts before, during and after all meetings to encourage rebook of business or to solicit other business within account.Represent Omni Hotels & Resorts at functions which are related to the sales and marketing efforts of Omni Hotels & Resorts.Conduct site inspections, familiarization trips and other related functions to develop potential catering businessMaintain the highest ethical standards while representing Omni Hotels & ResortsMaintain a thorough understanding and direct knowledge of Omni William Penn's primary competitorsAchieve revenue sales goals presented for each quarter on a consistent basis.Create and keep up to date banquet event orders, event resumes, and all other relevant event information if booking is within 2 weeks of arrival.Assist with the creation of profitable menus and distribution of client expectations to Food & Beverage Departments.Effectively coordinate efforts between Sales and Food & Beverage management.Ensure that the department standards are met and that all company policies and procedures are adhered to.Ensure that all departments meets all federal, state and local regulations affecting the hotel, Food & Beverage operation, its associates and guests Qualifications Three + years experience as a Catering Manager [selling and detailing] at a resort of similar scope working with corporate, non-profit, social, and SMERF markets.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Delphi FDC, Social Tables, or similar programs
