The Catering and Events Director is responsible for leading the Catering and Events team, overseeing all aspects of planning, promoting, and executing catering functions and special events. This role involves strategic planning, client relationship development, revenue generation, and ensuring the flawless delivery of events that exceed guest expectations.
What will I be doing?As the Catering and Events Director, you will be expected to perform the following responsibilities to the highest standards:
Lead the development and growth of key market segments by cultivating new client relationships while maintaining and enhancing existing corporate and social accounts.
Maximize revenue opportunities and client satisfaction through strategic negotiation, thoughtful planning, and effective expense control.
Oversee the recruitment, training, and performance management of the Catering and Events team to ensure excellence in service delivery, accurate execution of contracts, and high-quality event planning.
Coordinate and lead internal meetings with the team to ensure smooth execution of all events, from proposal to completion.
Develop comprehensive business plans and budgets, including forecasting for food and beverage revenue, room rental, menu planning, and overall financial targets.
Monitor and report on financial performance, ensuring alignment with departmental goals and objectives.
Attend and actively participate in interdepartmental meetings to promote clear communication and ensure that all client expectations are met.
Personally engage with top-tier clients to ensure a high level of satisfaction and repeat business.
Conduct site tours for prospective clients, ownership representatives, and new leadership to showcase event capabilities.
Participate in regular hotel meetings, including menu tastings and staff briefings, to maintain alignment across all departments.
