Caterpillar’s company strategy includes sustainability as one of four focus areas and IPSD is engaged and actively preparing green energy solutions for the future. **Job Summary:** As the **Category Procurement Manager** , you will be responsible for managing strategic sourcing aimed to deliver resiliency through cycles for Ferrous & Non Ferrous Castings Supply Network. This role serves both Product Group and Operation Facilities as clients in procurement functions, supplier relationship / performance / risk management, supplier development & capacity **What You Will Do:** • Accountable for managing cross functional team for development, communication, and implementation of a worldwide sourcing execution associated with ferrous and non ferrous casting, machined casting, fabrications. • Manage team executing sourcing scope with aligned product group, category procurement, quality, supply chain goals and deliverables. • Identifying, developing, and managing a high-performing global supply network and managing solutions for New Source Introduction (NSI) of current production components. **What You Will Have:** **Planning: Tactical, Strategic:** Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan. Level Working Knowledge: • Contributes / leads short and long term strategic sourcing and operational plans. • Manages global sourcing scope for alignment with multiple region category teams • Monitors progress of project timelines against plan as required to meet objectives. **Strategic Sourcing:** Knowledge of strategic sourcing methods, technologies and processes; ability to analyze, improve and re-evaluate organizational procurement process continuously. Level Extensive Experience: • Leads and manages the execution for all stages of the strategic sourcing process. • Trains others on strategic sourcing in multiple and diverse environments. • Works with complex strategic sourcing components including but not limited to negotiations, contracting, and continuous process improvement and implementation. **Effective Communications:** Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors. Level Extensive Experience: • Communicates well downward, upward, and outward • Stakeholder reporting on scope of responsibility at rooftop and finite level • Demonstrates both empathy and assertiveness when communicating a need or defending a position. **Supplier Management - MFG:** Knowledge of processes and methods to effectively manage business relationships and transactions with suppliers of raw materials or product components; ability to apply related knowledge, experience and skills into real practice. Level Extensive Experience: • Facilitates supplier partnering arrangements that share risk and reward. • Monitors supplier performance and source development timelines; works to resolve discrepancies between performance and project timeline deliverables. • Builds and maintains partnerships with multiple and/or large suppliers, and internal process partners **Business Intelligence:** Knowledge of business intelligence; ability to utilize business processes and technologies for gathering, storing, analyzing, and providing access to data that helps the organization make better business decisions.
