This Position reports to:
Category Manager
In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop, plan, and implement procurement strategy focused on optimizing costs, quality, delivery, and reliability of suppliers and supplied products for an assigned category or group of categories. Each day, you will ensure execution in accordance with company, procurement, and supply base management instructions and procedures. You will also showcase your expertise by recommending frame agreements to management and executing upon approval.
You will be mainly accountable for:For global category sourcing parts, can provide professional advice to global category manager for strategy making/optimizing, implements effective sourcing strategies in line with global sourcing strategy ensuring that the supply base/suppliers have the capability and capacity to meet current and future business requirements. Ensures all relevant parties understand strategies and execute processes accordingly.For local category sourcing parts, make sourcing strategy independently, evaluate and develop the supply base. Introduce new suppliers as appropriate to meet the current and future needs of the business. Manages planning and tracking of procurement activities, cost budgets, minimizes risk regarding quality and financial exposure by buying in accordance with quality and commercial procedures and in accordance with Company guidelines. Participating in the contract negotiation of the global suppliers together with the GCM, and leading the contract negotiations of the local suppliers.Adapts corporate contractual framework to the local business needs. Provides ongoing oversight and contract management with suppliers. Ensures identification, investigation, and selection of appropriate suppliers (focusing on quality, delivery, cost and sustainability) in accordance with Company policies. Provides and maintains standard terms in purchase contracts/terms and conditions in line with Company directives and guidelines.Work with Quality and SQE to improve supplier performance (OTD, DPPM, lead time etc.) and Manage and monitor the supplier portfolio and develop supplier to build right supply base. Identifying, tracking and implementing cost saving actions to meet the productivity targets for the category.
Qualifications for the role Bachelor’s or Master’s in Engineering or Commercial or similar degreeMinimum 6 years sourcing related working experienceGood knowledge in the machining/mechanical category & industry would be preferredExcellent knowledge in sourcing methods; supplier relationship management, contract negotiation, analytical skills and legal/contractual knowledgeExcellent communication, cooperation and influencing skills when working with different senior level roles internally and externally with different suppliersContinuous improvement mindset with a business-driven and fact base on approach towards suppliers with a focus on building long-term relationshipFluent English in both speaking and writing
