This position reports to the Global Sourcing function and regularly engages in highly complex business challenges that require creative, innovative, and entrepreneurial ways to solve in order to increase the quality of services that we buy.
How You'll Create Impact Responsible for the development and execution of global category strategies for IT Services, Hardware, Software, and Telecom. Supplier and Category strategies drive long-term improvements in service, quality, cost, delivery, and innovation, enhancing the competitive and commercial performance of Zimmer Biomet. The Category Manager will help manage a complex portfolio across a number of key suppliers with spend in excess of $130M delivering a $5M cost reduction and/ or cost avoidance annually. The Category Manager will execute the relevant Category strategies across the managed portfolio ensuring commercial issues are appropriately and expeditiously resolved. Works closely with quality, tax, HR, finance, and facilities to create project plans, implementation strategies, and executes plans. Will research marketplace to understand suppliers and market dynamics. Internal customer focus to address complex issues. Helps to devise and implement improvement strategies to processes, procedures, and project flow. Investigates and alayzes supplier's financial condition and technical competence to ensure adequate supplier capability. Develops contingency plans for assigned commodities and/ or strategic suppliers. What Makes You Stand Out Proven track record of managing a purchasing portfolio in a global, multi-functional environment, including complex tax, regulatory and industry-specific requirements. Solid knowledge of business and economic issues, cost structures and contracts in US law. Deep understanding of the relevant industry, including cost drivers, market dynamics and the competitive landscape. Experience negotiating large and complex technology agreements. Strong analytical and communication skills that can be utilized to influence and drive the decision-making process. Competency in written and spoken English language. Stron conflict management, problem-solving, and communication skills (both verbal and written) Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously and maintain tight timelines while meeting targeted savings outcomes. Your Background BS in Business Administration plus a minimum of 5-7 years of IT sourcing and/ or equivalent experince required. MBA preferred Travel Expectations Up to 10%EOE
