At Danfoss Power Solutions, we’re on the lookout for a Category Manager to take charge of our various commodities including machined parts, turned parts, forgings, cast aluminum and iron components and fasteners.
This role involves managing a budget of €15-30 million EUR. You’ll join a global team and play a vital role in shaping our supplier base, especially as we expand our footprint in fast-growing regions. You’ll collaborate across business units and functions to create long-term value while ensuring supply continuity, cost competitiveness, and technology readiness.
Job ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.
Develop and implement supplier strategies in alignment with relevant stakeholders Achieve savings through value-based negotiations Negotiate, implement and execute contracts with suppliers and support contractual disputes Improve company cash flow by negotiating payment term extension Coordinate Annual Business Review meetings with key suppliers Support the development of local supplier base Understand varying Danfoss’ business needs and manage stakeholders’ expectations Manage escalated supplier topics including performance, capacity and risk management Ensure supplier compliance with contracts, standards, and certifications. 20% Travel may be expected Background & SkillsAt Danfoss, we believe that a diverse and inclusive workplace fosters creativity, innovation, and a broader perspective in decision-making. Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or other related 5+ years’ experience in Procurement, Sourcing or Supplier Management Advanced English Visa and passport Experience working in a matrixed organization Experience sourcing custom engineered products Experience with commodities such as machined parts, turned parts, forgings, cast aluminum and iron components and fasteners. Ability to set own priorities to succeed in management of multiple high-profile suppliers Conduct well prepared data driven negotiations Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strategic thinker with the ability to execute a plan to meet that strategy Strong business acumen (operations and financial understanding) Ability to create win-win scenarios to meet varied stakeholder requirements Dedication to be proactive and timely to honor promises made.
