As the Global Category Manager for the Blackburn Cycling Accessory brand, it will be your responsibility to drive outcomes for the Blackburn business. You will be given the unique opportunity to build our leadership position in the cycling accessory marketplace. This is a global merchandising role with responsibilities for cycling accessories in all channels of business. You will be tasked with setting the strategy for the Blackburn brand, inclusive of a long-term product plan that can meet and exceed financial targets in revenue, SKU productivity, and margin. This role reports to the Senior Director of Merchandising and will have one direct report. The role requires very close collaboration with design, development, planning, and demand creation teams, as well as all regional brand managers.
This position reports to the Director of Merchandising and allows you the flexibility to work a hybrid schedule from your home and the Irvine office. The expectation of in office work will be Tuesday through Thursday each week.
As the Global Category Manager for Blackburn Cycling Accessories, you will have an opportunity to:
Lead the Blackburn Accessory category with a GLOBAL product vision, which blends Blackburn’s DNA/Heritage & regional needs with the objective to shape the future of Blackburn.
Maintain an intimate understanding of the cycling accessories market and our core consumers to benchmark our perceived value and create competitive advantages
Articulate a clear plan around category positioning, product segmentation, and strategic financial objectives to all global and regional teams
Create a line architecture with a high degree of sensitivity for balancing brand needs with specific regional & distribution needs.
Own the product creation process to drive innovative, high perceived value products utilizing function, fabrications, trims and silhouettes, to achieve go-in-margin targets set by the executive team.
Work with the demand creation team on the strategy and execution of all global sell-in & sell-out tools for your category.
Demonstrate strong leadership skills to be able to motivate, guide and coach your team, and cross-functional and regional partners
You Have:
5 + years of experience in product creation/merchandizing.
Bachelor’s degree in business, merchandising, marketing or related field. An additional 3-5 years experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Strong decision maker with ability to deal with ambiguity and conflict resolution
Effective communicator and presenter with strong leadership skills
Well versed in the cycling accessory business
Strong business orientation, analytical aptitude and computing skills
Ability to effectively create and manage processes
Pay Range:
Annual Salary: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00The actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on variables including experience, geographic location, education, and skills/achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer.
