**124033BR** **Job Title:** Category Analyst **Location:** Vistar Corporate (9002) **Job Description:** Responsible for supporting Category Managers in achieving sales and profitability objectives. The Category Analyst will maintain relationships with established and developmental supplier partners. Primary responsibilities include management of rebate accruals, analysis of purchasing and sales data to help identify profit opportunities, and working with Procurement department to increase participation with strategic suppliers with conversion of nonstrategic vendor purchases. Assists in providing direction on market conditions and inventory positions. Acts as a liaison between Vistar and suppliers in order to streamline supply chain functions. Prepares analysis and reviews manufacturer growth programs with Category Managers, and manages communication of directed buy activity as needed. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duty assigned to best serve the company. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Maintain relationships with established supplier partners. Identify and set up prospective new supplier partners. Ownership of and management of the rebate accrual process. Communicate with the Operating Companies to assist with any local issues/opportunities. Communicate market status/trends, purchase recommendations and key supplier performance updates. Support Category Managers in preparation for supplier negotiations through analysis of data to develop negotiation strategy. Support other strategic departments and company goals and functions with procurement related information, functions and activities.
