Your new role
In this role, you’ll work on catastrophe model evaluations, climate research, and risk analysis across a wide range of perils including bushfire, cyclone, flood, and earthquake. Participate in global projects in collaboration with our internal and external partners.
Analyse model components to assess their appropriateness and impact.
Present findings and recommendations to internal stakeholders, including divisional teams.
Support ad hoc tasks such as catastrophe event response and data analysis.
The interview process will consist of 2-3 interviews and background checks.
About you
You’re a critical thinker with a strong technical foundation and a passion for solving complex problems.
Key Criteria
Bachelor’s or higher degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Natural Hazards, Geophysics, Engineering, or a related field.
Proficiency in catastrophe modelling tools (e.g. RMS, AIR) and programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL.
Demonstrated experience in catastrophe modelling, risk analysis, or a related field.
Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical findings to diverse audiences.
Curiosity and initiative to explore model assumptions and challenge vendor methodologies.
Experience in insurance, reinsurance, or hazard-related academic research is highly regarded.
If you’re ready to work on meaningful projects that influence how we understand and respond to global catastrophe risk, we’d love to hear from you.
