What the day will look like: You will be working with our client teams and colleagues from Prague and from different offices in Europe to deliver catastrophe modelling and analytical support to our clients and the reinsurance market. The main tasks include: + Running natural catastrophe models to quantify the likelihood and severity of natural catastrophes for property portfolios of insurance companies. + Communication about technical solutions in a digestible manner with both clients and colleagues from broking team. + Collaboration with senior team members on testing and evaluation of catastrophe models. + Contributing to research and development of ideas to improve the existing models and tools. Skills and experience that will lead to success: Finished university studies in natural sciences, data analysis, statistics or similar with interest in modelling extreme climate and catastrophe events. The ideal candidate is eager to grow into an expert on this subject! + Previous experience not vital but will be very welcomed. + Proficient in MS Excel, familiarity with MS Access. + Functional knowledge of at least one scripting or programming language (at least basic SQL), Python or R may come handy. + Good communication skills in English + Strong technical problem-solving skills + Capability to work in a team, independently, working under pressure, and ability to prioritize work effectively. + Flexibility and self-motivation, positive approach to work How we support our colleagues: Working at Aon brings you an opportunity to work for a market leader in the highly attractive reinsurance industry with regional headquarter in Prague, while engaging with people all over the world.
