Position Purpose:
The Catalog Data Governance & Reporting manager supports company catalog data analytics initiatives which support all USAG Catalog Look-Up applications for NAPA U.S. and NAPA Canada. This position is responsible for establishing and promoting modern data and analytics governance principles, policies, standards, processes, and tools. This role requires a broad mix of business and technical savvy, teamwork, influencing decisions, and effective communication skills with key internal partners at all levels. The manager works directly with business representatives to define and implement the new processes and standards to monitor and improve all aspects of data quality, and maintenance across the organization.
Position Performance Measures:
Facilitates the development and implementation of data quality standards, processes, and procedures within the Digital Operations team.Regular refinement of standards and requirements based on business needs and prioritiesCommunication of robust and comprehensive data governance standards and expectations for internal and external partiesCreating and enforcing methodologies to define structure, attribution, taxonomies, and metadata for substantive data managementThe creation of automated, scalable approaches for data quality issue identification and support mitigationDefinition, development and delivery of standardized metrics for adoption and compliance with governance processes and proceduresDelivery of data governance and quality measures reporting/dashboards for business insights and actionsEnsures consistent and ongoing improvement to data quality, completeness and accuracy through reporting, analytics, engagement and interaction with internal stakeholders and Vendor partners
Responsibilities:
The primary duties and responsibilities of a Catalog Data Governance and Reporting Manager are listed, but not limited to the following:
Grow a newly established data governance practice, govern and roadmap, including strategic priorities for development of governance and reporting capabilitiesDevelop a data governance framework, with a focus on improvement and sustainment of data quality through organizational and departmental behavior policies and standards, principles, governance metrics, processes, related tools and data architectureDefine roles and responsibilities related to data governance and ensure clear accountability for stewardship of the company’s primary product catalog and information assetsServe as a liaison between Business, Functional areas and Technology to ensure that data related business requirements are clearly defined, communicated and well understood and considered as part of operational prioritization and planningDefine indicators of performance and quality metrics and ensure compliance with data related policies, standards, roles and responsibilities, and adoption requirementsFacilitate the development and implementation of data quality standards, data quality reporting & dashboards, and data insights/adoption of requirements across the organizationLead resources from the Business and Functional areas and IT business and operations functions, to achieve their objectives; resolve issues escalated from Business and Functional data governance and enrichment representativesIn conjunction with the IT, provide progress reports to Department Leadership and oversee periodic updates to the department roadmapIdentify new business opportunities pertaining to the use of information assets to achieve efficiency and effectiveness in the marketplace / represent data as a strategic business assetMust be willing and able to travel within the United States and CanadaBe willing to represent the company (NAPA, GPC) in a professional and courteous manner in all dealings with GPC Suppliers, Employees of GPC, and Customers of GPC.Willing to perform any and all tasks as directed by management.Other duties as assigned.Location:
GPC has two work locations to choose from, Duluth or Atlanta office.We offer a Flexible Work Policy that permits eligible employees to work a hybrid remote schedule.Desired Qualifications & Experiences:
Bachelors or master’s in computer science, MIS, or Information Management, or equivalent experience.Minimum of 3+ years of experience with large-scale data or project management and oversight experience. Minimum of 3 years in a major organization.8+ years in a management roleKnowledge of industry leading data quality, data standards and data management practicesKnowledge of data governance practices, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets and approaches/emerging trends and issuesDemonstrated change management skills, including communication, culture change and performance measurement system designKnowledge of data architecture and technology solutionsAbility to manage senior relationships across all the Business and Functional areasAbility to develop cooperative and constructive working relationshipsAbility to handle complaints, settle disputes and resolve conflicts and negotiate with othersCollaborative team player orientation towards work relationships, strong culture awarenessInternally and externally recognized subject matter expert that influence the way things are doneStrong abilities in data exploration, data manipulation, and data visualizationAbility to travel as required within the US and CanadaAutomotive knowledge and enthusiasm a plusWork is performed in a typical office environmentNot the right fit?
