UPMC Shadyside School of Nursing is seeking a casual Nursing Instructor to join our expanding team. We welcome candidates with an MSN and 3 years of clinical experience. Final job title will reflect your education, experience, and manager discretion.
The individual hired into this role will support a weekend clinical group (every other weekend).

The school is part of UPMC Shadyside, which is part of the UPMC health system. The focus of our program is mastery of high-level competencies reflecting the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required for the delivery of safe, quality nursing care.
Key Responsibilities:

Maintain active professional nursing memberships and pursue ongoing education for growth. Use feedback from peers and students to improve teaching and share expertise with colleagues. Lead and participate in school committees, promoting innovative educational practices. Keep current with nursing knowledge and provide resources to support diverse learners. Build positive relationships with students, faculty, management, patients, and healthcare teams. Apply critical thinking to guide student learning and clinical judgment. Deliver quality classroom and clinical instruction, create meaningful assignments, and demonstrate expertise. Contribute to policy development and use evidence-based teaching strategies. Encourage critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills development. Engage in quality improvement projects, scholarly work, and program evaluation to enhance student performance. Support educational change initiatives and demonstrate leadership across nursing schools. Serve as a professional role model and co-chair committees as assigned.
