Casual Lifeguard (part-time) – Athletics, Division of Student Affairs

Carnegie Mellon University’s department of Athletics is searching for multiple Non-CMU Student Part-Time Casual Lifeguards. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment. This is a part-time, non-benefits eligible position. Priority consideration and preference will be given for individuals that have familiarity with the Carnegie Mellon community and university facilities. **_Core responsibilities include:_** + Ensure the safety of patrons by preventing and responding to emergencies + Exhibit knowledge and application of lifeguard surveillance and rescue techniques + Understand facilities policies and procedures + Other duties as assigned Adaptability, excellence, and passion are vital qualities within Carnegie Mellon University. We are in search of a team member who can effectively interact with a varied population of internal and external partners at a high level of integrity. We are looking for someone who shares our values and who will support the mission of the university through their work. **_You should demonstrate:_** + Flexibility and punctuality + Strong communication skills **Qualifications:** + ARC or YMCA lifeguard training + ARC Standard First Aid & CPR for Professional Rescuer + AED Training + A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered. **Requirements:** + Successful pre-employment background check + _Child Protection Clearances (Act 153)_ **Additional Information:** + **Sponsorship** : Applicants for this position must be currently legally authorized to work for CMU in the United States.
