As a Casual Catering Assistant at Sodexo in Fortius Clinic, 66 Wigmore Street, London, W1U 2SB, you’ll play an important part in preparing and serving nutritious, comforting meals that support patient recovery and wellbeing. You’ll also help maintain a clean, safe environment in the kitchen and dining areas. With a cheerful attitude and great customer service, your presence can make a real difference in someone’s day. What you’ll do:

Take all patient and visitor refreshment orders accurately, ensuring any allergies or dietary requirements are clearly communicated to the main kitchen and recorded in the ward kitchen

Assemble all patient meals accurately onto a tray for presentation to patients and visitors

Transport food to patient rooms, ensuring patients are comfortable and have the assistance they need to consume refreshments with ease

Ensure that all patient and visitor refreshments are delivered in a timely manner, reporting any delays

Ensure hygienic cleaning of all crockery, cutlery, trays, and equipment to maintain infection control

Maintain stock control, rotation, and records at all times

Complete all legal, company, and client documentation within the required time scale

Complete all audit and quality standards documentation as required

Provide general assistance throughout the catering department as needed

Monitor all food wastage levels returning from patient rooms

Maintain a clean, tidy, and hygienic ward kitchen, reporting any issues to the Line Manager

Report all equipment malfunctions to the Line Manager

Present a positive and professional image of the organisation

Communicate calmly, politely, and tactfully with customers at all times

Recognise issues that may interfere with customer satisfaction and take appropriate action to resolve or escalate as necessary

Be friendly and approachable in communication

Follow all policies and procedures relevant to the role, including Infection Prevention and Control

Demonstrate an organised and effective approach to all tasks

Use resources (e.g. stock, equipment, time) efficiently with minimal wastage

Carry out duties safely, with minimal disruption to others

Make full and proper use of any protective or safety equipment provided
