RESPONSIBILITIES
I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Receives and processes Medical Center payments, adjustments, refunds and check exchanges to appropriate accounts receivable patient account and to appropriate General Ledger accounts.
• Performs duties in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Medical Center and in accordance with generally accepted accounting practices.
II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Essential: standing, sitting, walking, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking.
• Frequent: lifting and pushing/pulling weight up to 35 pounds, carrying usual weight of 5 pounds up to 15 pounds, reaching above, at and below shoulder level.
• Occasional: climbing stairs, walking on uneven ground.
• Operates computer, telephone, copier, facsimile, typewriter, adding machine.
III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions. May be exposed to communicable diseases and other conditions common to a hospital and office environment.
IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
• High school diploma or equivalent education.
• Course work in bookkeeping/accounting highly preferred.
B. EXPERIENCE:
• One (1) year experience in business services in a healthcare facility, accounting, finance or banking An associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting or healthcare related field may be substituted for work experience requirement.
• Experience to demonstrate ability and skill in use of computer and application programs.
• Experience and/or background to demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
